Starlight is a resident dance company at the Centre for Arts & Culture in Windsor ‘The Fire Station where we host weekly Authentic Salsa classes’. We also host ‘Cuban Party nights’ once a month at Havana Bar & Restaurant in Windsor which are proving to be very popular and a fun evening for all – any excuse to party, we will! Some of our clients include The Royal Holloway University, The Windsor Festival, Windsor Boat Club and much more. We also provide private dance tuition and we offer professional Corporate Entertainment.

Miguel Ramirez
Director/Senior Choreographer

Miguel is fast becoming very popular in the “UK Salsa scene” for his exciting & inspiring choreography, fun classes and his dedication & talent. Miguel Ramirez recently arrived in the UK, but he is originally from The Dominican Republic in the Caribbean, next to Cuba. Miguel brings with him a wealth of experience with him, hence opening his own Dance School “Starlight” to share this with you. Miguel has studied many different types of dance genres and performed at international level. He leads with Cuban Salsa, Bachata and African Contemporary. He has worked and taken classes with the best professors of dance in both his home country, and also from other countries, such as Cuba, France, Brazil and Spain.

Time line
2008/9 Arrival in the UK, studied English language and set up of the Starlight Corporation – Time spent guest teaching at events, Egham University, Corporate functions and attending UK’s Salsa events. Early collaboration with teachers such as Leandro Charanga, Moe Flex and Wilson Castro (Miguel worked for Wilson Castro in the Dominican republic in 1998)

2005 Choreographed and performed on a popular TV show called Titri Munda which is broadcast throughout Latin America on Telemicro Canal 5. Miguel managed a team of professional dancers and used his creativity to produce two shows per week.

2003 Choreographed and performed routines – Tropical Extravaganza’s - Dominican republic - Classical solos, Salsa, Rumba, Cha, Cha, Cha, Tango, Jazz, Rock and Roll, Samba and Contemporary.

2000 Performed at the Tropical Music Festival - Venezwaler

1993 Miguel studied at the National Ballet in Santo Domingo for 7 years. The national ballet provides representation and training for Professional Dominican dancers. Miguel taught deaf children between the ages 5-12, to dance using a mixture & of sign language and vibrations. His students performed to the country’s Vice President. Miguel performed in New York Dance festival and performed to presidents of other countries visiting Dominican Republic.

Martina Tessaro
Martina is from Venice, Italy & she teaches Beginners and Improvers Salsa for Starlight and she runs workshops in Cha Cha. Martina is a delightful teacher and fun to be around with excellent styling and technique! Martina is professionally trained in Latin & currently studying Contemporary Dance at University. Martina has most recently spent the summer performing in Sardinia.

Chloe Harrigan
Chloe assists with Salsa and Bachata classes. Chloe has been dancing since she was two and a half years old" so dance & theatre have always been a huge part of her life, she can't see herself ever not performing. Miguel saw Chloe’s potential during classes and trains Chloe on a one to one level in Latin performance.

Zoe Ramirez
I learnt to dance Salsa and Bachata whilst working overseas & for the past 6 years have become a huge Latin dance fan. I teaches beginners levels and I manage all events & private bookings for Starlight.
